One Crazy Busy Weekend!

We had two major events over this past weekend. Event #1: My husband turned the BIG 30 on Friday the 13th. I was able to surprise him this year with his whole family making the trip up from Utah to spend a few days with us. They arrived literally minutes before he did on Thursday night! We spent Thursday night at our house eating some great food. My sweet sister Michelle and her husband Dave were kind enough to let us borrow their boat for the day on Friday. We spent a wonderful day up at Black Canyon Reservoir tubing, swimming, eating, playing sand volleyball, lounging in the sun, etc. We had such a great time. I'm so grateful that they all could make it up here with the exception of Linzy and Nikki's husbands. Jake had no idea his family was coming or what we were doing for the weekend. He has such a sneaky wife! I sure love Jake and am so grateful every day that I choose to marry him. We are more in love today than we were 8 years ago. I love the man that he is and I adore him so much. Happy Birthday Jake!!

Event #2: My little brother had his mission farewell on Sunday. He was called to the ARIZONA MESA mission. He reports to the MTC on Wednesday, August 18th, the same day my husband reported for his mission. My mom had a family friend snap a few photos of the family prior to church on Sunday. I had to say goodbye to my only brother yesterday. It was harder than I had anticipated. I know he is doing what he needs to but it still will be difficult to not see him for 2 whole years. I'm so proud of the decision he made and know he will serve the people of Mesa well. We love you Brian!
