Summer Fun!

Last weekend we went to the annual Kuna Days Firework show. They put on quite the impressive firework display. We started out having a bbq with some friends. We then ventured out to watch the fireworks. We had great seats and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I wish some of my pictures of the fireworks would have turned out but they did not. Ella and Matt said and yelled, "WOW!!" after every single firework went off. Sophie sat on Jake's lap, plugged her ears and asked to go home. Towards the end, she started to enjoy herself.

Jake always says that the post look like we were never there because there is usually only pictures of the kids. I would have him know that we were there and we had a great time! Matt took this picture of us:)

Family Picture.

One of our friends from the ward brought glow sticks and gave all of our kids some. They enjoying whirling them around and playing with them before the fireworks started.

I decided to take a little day trip out to Black Canyon in Emmett with a friend and her kids last week. We had such a good time. There was a great little beach for the kids to play on and we did some jumping off the docks. We will definitely be going out there again for a little fun in the sun!

My pictures loaded out of order. Sophie fell asleep early the day after we got back from Black Canyon, she must have had way too much fun.

Here is Matt, Landon, and Lauren looking for some fish by the rocks.

Luke and Sophie got a little brave and would wade out into the water by themselves to about mid-thigh. They were pretty entertaining to watch. These two love playing together.

Here is Sophie's idea of "floating" in the water. Is she not the biggest chicken?

Ella Bella floating in the water. She jumped off the dock to me while we were there. I was so proud of her!

We took a trip to Utah a couple weekends ago to meet the newest members of our extended family. Nikki and Tipper had Lexi the end of June and Linzy and Karson had Madden in July. They are about 3 weeks apart and both so cute! My girls were so excited to see these two little babies. They have been talking about it for weeks. We also spent some time swimming in the pool of course. We had a great time visiting family for a couple of days. The time went by way too fast. Here are a few pics of our little trip.

Here is Baby Madden. Can't quite decide who he looks like.

Ella holding little baby Lexi. She was extremely curious and inquisitive about the babies. She had lots of questions about feeding, changing, bathing, diapering etc.

We did some swimming in the pool. Sophie likes to dip her feet in the water and sit on the first step in the pool but does not like to actually swim. She is the biggest chicken. Jake took her for a real swim and this is pretty much her reaction every time. She cries a lot and holds on to you as tight as she can.

Karson swam around will Ella for a little while and she all the sudden became very brave when it came to the water. She is pretty timid when it comes to the water as well. Not nearly as bad as Sophie but she still likes to hold on to someone the whole time. Karson worked with her for probably 30 mins and by the end she was jumping off the diving board! It was so fun to see her being so brave!

Here is baby Lexi taking a little nap on her mom's lap during church on Sunday. Jake called her little Tipperina all weekend because she is the spitting image of her dad.

Of course we need a picture of sleeping Madden too. We thought it was so funny that he had his hand over his nose.
